Pack Up Let's Go Waiting for history, to take us where we need to be Well I hope, we get there soon Beginning of the end for me, it's only a matter of time to see That we all, have gotta crawl Only got our hearts tonight and you were the one that was always right But I know, you can't say no End times coming, don't be sad I've got a quick plan that'll make you glad That you lived in this life For every give there's a bigger take And someone's got a heart to break So let's get on with the show Pack Up, Let's Go I know that it's hard to see But clear your eyes and look for me I'm here, and it's time to be clear Relax one minute just give it a chance We're not the only ones in a trance So join this dance Earthquakes coming, Iran's irate Meteor showers, don't be late We've only got a little time to take this sign End times coming, don't be sad I've got a little plan that'll make you glad That you lived in this life For every give there's a bigger take But no need for your heart to break At the end of this show Pack up, let's go This apocalypse now calls for a servants' bow The world falling down nobody knows how so Yes it's time to fall, we'll never have it all! End times coming, don't be sad I've got a little plan that'll make you glad That you lived in this life For every give there's a bigger take No need for your heart to break So ignore all the show Pack up, let's go

Say it to My Face Everything And Everyone All along We've been reading something wrong Every dawn And every song When all is wrong You keep coming back for more I really want to know you I really want to show you the view If you really know who runs this place Come on up and say it to my face Too good For our own good In Hollywood They taint the world we could Oh well Time for show and tell Buy it low and sell Don't think about who needs it more I really want to know you I really want to show you the view If you really know who runs this place Come on up and say it to my face I really want to know you I really want to show you the view If you really know who runs this place Come on up and say it to my face

Never Saw The Stop Sign We were only fifteen Who would've thought that we would act seventeen And in a blink our lives had changed All I knew was rearranged One small act and a broken pact But it wasn't a crime It was only a matter of time Talk about an awkward situation Talk about a silly conversation You played the part now hear my dissertation Heart to heart had never been so close Nothing that our eyes could ever find Nothing nobody could have disguised I guess I needed something for a prize I guess I never saw the stop sign But a child I was My only excuse was I did it just because Didn't know why I did the things I did If I did I just wallowed and hid But from then we were like rabbits on the lawn And the hardest part was lying to your mom Talk about an awkward situation Talk about a silly conversation You played the part now hear my dissertation Heart to heart had never been so close Nothing that our eyes could ever find Nothing nobody could have disguised I guess I needed something for a prize I guess I never saw the stop sign Guess I did the time But you know I'd still do the crime If I could only find the right line Talk about an awkward situation Talk about a silly conversation You played the part now hear my dissertation Heart to heart had never been so close Nothing that our eyes could ever find Nothing nobody could have disguised I guess I needed something for a prize I guess I never saw the stop sign

Old is the New New Out of sight out of mind It won't be hard to find The truth inside the lines Made of lies But finding you are blind Can be somewhat unkind If I could rewind I'd be fine Old is the new new Won't you see it too Old is the new new When I see you Old is the new new Yes it can be true That old is the new new And I find you are too Time to pay our time For all that we denied Couldn't be a clearer sign But we tried The compass of our lives Found within our crimes But lying side by side I find Old is the new new Won't you see it too Old is the new new When I see you Old is the new new Yes it can be true That old is the new new And I find you are too Old is the new new Won't you see it too Old is the new new When I see you Old is the new new Yes it can be true That old is the new new And I find you are too

Anything to Anyone I'm not giving anything to you I'm just gonna say we're through Try to help and you'll fall Read the wall, I'm done with it all Because I know And I'll show What do I need to do, to let you know I'm fine Just rewind I won't give anything to anyone Because frankly I'm just done I won't give anything to anyone Because frankly I'm just done I won't give anything to anyone Because frankly I'm just done I won't give anything to anyone Because frankly I'm just done One and done

Beauty Sells and Prophets Dwell I don't want to be your savior And I am not the chosen son I'd rather sleep outside here Without the gods and everyone We're not asking for a favor We just want a little fun We're all reaching out together But no one will ever come Beauty sells and prophets dwell on the same mistakes Makeup helps but still the hearts will always break You got me and I got room to make believe Could that really be all we need Now I'm not asking for forgiveness For the things I haven't done What's the point in being worshiped Through the barrel of a gun We're all searching for an answer To a problem that we can't see Are we making any headway Or are we just burning all the trees Beauty sells and prophets dwell on the same mistakes Makeup helps but still the hearts will always break You got me and I got room to make believe Could that really be all we need Beauty sells and prophets dwell on the same mistakes Makeup helps but still the hearts will always break You got me and I got room to make believe Could that really be all we need Could that really be all we need

When the River Runs Wild When the river runs wild And the devils in your smile When your heart reads like a book Mark a page I'll take a look When everyone seems to know There's just nothing left to show What can you do but grow Keep a song where you will go When the mountains they seem tall And you can't help but stop and crawl If nature starts to call Well it's time for you to fall Cause when everyone seems to know There's just nothing left to show What can you do but grow Keep a song where you will go Cause when everyone seems to know There's just nothing left to show What can you do but grow Keep a song where you will go When the river runs wild And you can't help but smile

Grabbing At The Reins This is how it feels to be kind to everyone you hold This is how it feels to be blind to everyone you know When I'm out there on my own what do you want to see When I'm out there all alone what can you expect of me? Hold on to what you've got cause everyone wants a piece Hold tight to those you love, cause the world will never cease For me the problems never wane as I slowly go insane Grabbing at the reins And I know it's not your fault, they made you take the fall But I have a right to know why you'd hide behind a wall And with every day I see, the ever growing plea Of the doubt that plants its seed, and the fear that follows me Hold on to what you've got cause everyone wants a piece Hold tight to those you love, cause the world will never cease For me the problems never wane as I slowly go insane Grabbing at the reins With every sing a long, move closer in the pews How can we belong, when we don't even what's right and wrong And as I take the fatal blow, I cede control in pain As I row the boat in vain, I synthesize a strain Hold on to what you've got cause everyone wants a piece Hold tight to those you love, cause the world will never cease For me the problems never wane as I slowly go insane Grabbing at the reins

Tell Mom It's Me Try to hold my hand, you won't let me fall But I'm the biggest man, Stand so tall Don't need your help, I've got it all But time will tell, I need you like their God needs hell Tell mom it's me, tell her I'm doing well Tell mom it's crazy but I'm smiling and I can tell Tell her I'm singing just like she knew I would And I'm coming home for good With every song, learn something new From my greatest fall, into the blue Had it all but shrugged it off Quite a fall but I did it to myself myself oh myself Tell mom it's me, tell her I'm doing well Tell mom it's crazy but I'm smiling and I can tell Tell her I'm singing just like she knew I would And I'm coming home for good All I've ever done The knots that've come undone It's time I finally begun To call myself your son What's the use, When it happens all the time Why even try when I can't look me in the eye Stuck asking why, but I know you'll help me if I try A little help, don't serve the self till you find what's inside of your mind Tell mom it's me, tell her I'm doing well Tell mom it's crazy but I'm smiling and I can tell Tell her I'm singing just like she knew I would Tell mom it's me, tell her I'm doing well Tell mom it's crazy but I'm smiling and I can tell Tell her I'm singing just like she knew I would And I'm coming home for good

And Then? 04:26
And Then? And then? What happens after then The aftermath of giving in A broken pact of sin We'll sign the rights off with a grin With a graphic novel of your life on display Will you be dismayed? What would you say? And then? I'll break your heart again Just the price it takes to mend All the things that I pretend Guess you should phone a friend I guess that's okay What else can I say? But I'll do it anyways So then You'll take the side that wins And you know which one that is But it won't work that way again You find you're sinking as the flood comes in As the lighting fixture in your room starts to dim Will you let them win? Or will you try to swim? And then? I'll break your heart again Just the price it takes to mend All the things that I pretend Guess you should phone a friend I guess that's okay What else can I say? But who asked you anyways? Everyone Hurts someone in time They find a gun Suddenly it's a crime We'll all find our hearts in the end And when You're lying in your bed Dying for a friend Will you know just who I am? If I've let you down again and again Even if we are blocked in, I'll see it to the end And then? I'll break your heart again Just the price it takes to mend All the things that I pretend Guess you should phone a friend I guess that's okay What else can I say? And who asked you anyways?

A Thank You 04:26
A Thank You -- Aren't you beautiful when you sleep Aren't I a simple fool to believe, I'm here to stay in your heart Aren't I a bit too hard to tolerate When I leave you waiting everyday Aren't I cynical when I believe It's cruel to think that I might have lied once or twice But I'm not the only one There's always two sides to a gun-fight But you're the only one who understands You're the only one I can always count on When I've all but drowned in the sand I know that you'll be there to help me stand It's impossible but it's true I wrote a love song and it might be written for you But what else is a poor boy supposed to do When you're so far out of view But you're the only one who understands You're the only one I can always count on When I've all but drowned in the sand I know that you'll be there to help me stand Consider this a thank you For all the times I couldn't thank you In all these paths we take Only one thing truly matters: The love we make You're the only who understands You're the only one I can always count on So when you've all but drowned in the sand Just know that I'll be there To help you stand

about

Collection of songs I wrote in the past year or so. Every one of them comes from somewhere - I may not even know where or why! I enjoy writing music though - very therapeutic. Hopefully somebody likes listening to it. If you're reading this, you are a champion and should be very proud. That or you are procrastinating so badly that even this is keeping your attention. Seriously, why are you still reading this? Fine I guess you get one reward. ALL SONGS ARE FREE! Okay, so maybe that's not a reward. They are free though.

Wander these paths we take in solidarity my friends. Peace

- HJV

Harrison's Van Phoenix, Arizona

Writing music and examining life in our strange and beautiful world.
All music is free. Mostly soft acoustic music with all kinds of influences. I record what I can with a mic, acoustic guitar, random "instruments" I can get my hands on, and, of course, garageband effects :)
